Phase 2 road construction began on Monday June 8^th and will last into the fall.  Phase 2 is the segment between Eagle and the WIS 83 roundabout.

Traffic Updates – Week of 7/20/2026

• The segment between Eagle and WIS 83 remains “Road Closed to Thru Traffic”.   Local access will be maintained for residents and businesses in the closed area.
• Daily localized traffic flagging and operations will continue as needed in North Prairie for signal installations and lawn restorations.
• The milling crew is working towards Eagle under flagging traffic control.  The paving crew is following behind also utilizing flaggers to direct traffic around the train.

Construction Updates – Week of 7/20/2026

• The paving crew will be near WIS 83 on 7/23 to pave a test stretch of the surface layer (one day only of surface).  They will then pave the lower layer at County E and the Dable Road connection in the afternoon.  On Friday, 7/24, they will resume lower layer paving between Eagle and North Prairie.
• The milling crew will reach Eagle on Friday 7/24, and will work on completing the work in the village on Saturday 7/25 or Monday 7/27 if needed.
• The contractor intends to pave the lower layer through the entire project length before commencing the surface layer paving train.

*The milling train operations are anticipated to be working in the Village of Eagle soon.  The project’s western limit for WIS 59 is directly in front of the small side road between Red Roof Station and Ultimate Image.  The southern limit on WIS 67 is near the railroad crossing where that project left off earlier this year.  The northern limit on WIS 67 is several hundred feet up the hill and will tie in at Murphy Drive (south leg).  Due to the complex alignments of all these roads, this work is required to be done under flagging.  This means the contractor will have flaggers at several roads at the same time (WIS 67 north & south, WIS 59 west & east, and Partridge Street).  This will repeat approximately a week later for the paving operations.

It is anticipated this will be extremely disruptive to traffic in all legs of the WIS 67/WIS 59 intersection when the milling train is passing through there.  The contractor is also required to mill around manholes and water valves in the village, making it more time consuming and disruptive to traffic. Expect long waits at flaggers if you drive through the work zone.  Only Emergency vehicles will be allowed to immediately pass through.

The project strongly suggests drivers use alternate routes when the contractor is milling or paving through Eagle. 

For the residents and businesses along WIS 59 and WIS 67 in Eagle, the contractor will ramp from the milled surface up the curb, ensuring driveways are accessible after the milling operation.  The depth of the milling is 4” except WIS 67 north is 2” only, which means driveways would be traversable if needed before the gravel ramps are installed.  It is also recommended that vehicles are out of the driveways prior to the mill or paving passing through.  The contractor will meet with business owners prior to passing through, in particular the Hen House Restaurant which only has access off of WIS 59.  Both units work at a slow walking pace, so if a vehicle does need to get out, or in, right when the contractor is blocking the property, you may need to wait until they pass.  This is usually around 15 minutes.  The new asphalt in Eagle will match the existing grade for most areas.  The asphalt will be paved 2” higher than existing grade east of Wisconsin Street (near Hen House Restaurant) all the way to North Prairie.
