Project Updates
Phase 1 road construction will begin on Monday April 6th on the WIS 59 resurfacing project from WIS 67 in Eagle to County X in Waukesha.
Traffic Updates – Week of 4/6/2026
- Detour route will be posted project wide
- Eastbound traffic will follow WIS 67 North from Eagle to US 18 in Dousman and then east along US 18 and south to where it connects to WIS 59 again in Waukesha.
- Westbound traffic will follow US 18 north and from WIS 59 in Waukesha and west to WIS 67 in Dousman and then south along WIS 67 to where it connects to WIS 59 again in Eagle.
- “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” signage will be placed along WIS 59 from the east side of WIS 83 in Genesee to the west side of county X in Waukesha. Local access will be maintained.
- Local traffic control devices will be placed in Eagle and North Prairie to assist crews with flagging operations during the day.
- Signals at County E & WIS 59 in North Prairie will be converted to a four way stop during construction of both phase 1 and 2.
Construction Updates – Phase 1 (Week of 4/6/2026 to Late May)
- Milling and asphalt paving operations will begin at County X working towards the west. During this work, the milling and paving “trains” will be done under flagging to maintain local access.
- Milling operations will take off 4” of the existing pavement with short ramps in place at match points to existing pavement for traffic safety when moving to/from the milled surface.
- Between milling and paving, patching crews will also be opening and closing deeper crack repairs as needed for maintenance.
- Mainline paving will be conducted in two lifts project wide.
- Paving markings and shoulder restoration will be completed following the surface layer paving and prior to reopening to through traffic.
- Bridge deck resealing work will be conducted at the EB & WB bridges on WIS 59 east of WIS 83 over Genesee Creek. Bridge deck overlay removal and replacement will be conducted at the bridge on WIS 59 West of Hillside Rd. This structure work will be coordinated towards the end of Phase 1 and will take place with overnight closures to maintain traffic during the day.
- Concrete curb and gutter, curb ramps, and inlet adjustments will be completed in Eagle and North Prairie on the outsides of the roadway under localized traffic control and flagging operations to maintain through traffic.
- Signal replacement operations will begin at County E & WIS 59 on the outside of the roadway. This will include replacing the aging signal standard poles and replacing them with new monotube poles. The existing signals will be turned off and replaced with a four way stop over the duration of this work.
