WIS 24 Resurfacing (Janesville Road to 45th Street)

We are pleased to report that the WIS 24/Forest Home Avenue project from 45th Street to 108th Street is nearing final completion. Two lanes of traffic in each direction have been restored. The exception is between Cold Spring Road and 84th Street, where one lane of traffic in each direction remains open while beam guard installation is completed.

Overview:

This project will make various improvements to approximately five (5) miles of WIS 24 (Forest Home Avenue) between Janesville Road in the village of Hales Corners and 45th Street in the city of Milwaukee. 2026 construction work is scheduled to resume in mid-March 2026.

Project Improvements include:

  • Resurface WIS 24 (Forest Home Avenue) within project limits
  • Replace traffic signals at 76th Street, Coldspring Road, and the 68th Street intersections.
  • Improvements to bridge structure at 76th Street
  • Reconstruct curb ramps at various locations to meet current ADA standards
