- Because of the condition of the highway, WisDOT placed emergency load restrictions on WIS 70 between County GG and WIS 13 in late March until the road could be resurfaced.
- The restrictions currently limit vehicles using this stretch of highway – with a few exceptions – to legal weights of 80,000 pounds, or 40 tons.
- The restrictions will be lifted at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 to allow construction crews to begin to mobilize for the resurfacing project.
- During construction, WIS 70 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter daytime lane closures controlled by flagging.
