Weekly update for 7/1/24

Work Ongoing and Recently Completed

• Crews sawed the pavement on STH 19 at Thompson and Davison in preparation for removals
• The west medians on STH 19 were completely removed and graded for new curb and pavement.  The majority of the east medians were also removed except for the pedestrian crossings.
• Lighting crews continue working on the underground conduit for the signal upgrades at Thompson and Davison

Upcoming Work

• Punchlist work at 19/151 will take place over the next couple weeks
• Crews will start forming the concrete curb and pavement at the removed medians
• Lighting crews will continue working on signal upgrades at Thompson Rd and Davison Drive
• Crews will also start on the spot curb repairs of the STH 19 median west of Grand Avenue

Traffic Impacts

• There will be no work from Noon July 3 through 6AM July 8 to reduce congestion on the roadways for the holiday.
• The median left turn lanes and thru lanes on STH 19 are closed in both directions at both Thompson and Davison.  The left turn lanes on Thompson are closed in both directions. All traffic will use the right thru lanes and right turn lanes.
• Access to sidewalks and side roads will be maintained.

Traffic impacts

UPCOMING CLOSURE OF SOUTHBOUND N THOMPSON RD

• Traffic control crews will be onsite Friday, May 3^rd to open northbound Thompson Rd at WIS 19.
• Once the northbound traffic is opened, traffic control crews will close southbound Thompson Rd at WIS 19 in order to remove and replace the pavement and sidewalk crossings.  WIS 19 will remain open in both directions at N Thompson Rd.  See attached PDFs for the vehicle and pedestrian detours.  Detour signs will be placed to aid traffic.  Pedestrian access will be maintained on the east side of the intersection.

US 151 interchange:

• Staged construction will allow at least one lane of WIS 19 to remain open in each direction during daytime operations. There will be overnight closures of WIS 19 and the US 151 ramps.

Thompson Street and Davidson Drive:

• Traffic will be open to traffic and will require lane closures throughout the project. Turn lanes will be closed during stages of construction. The 151 interchange ramps will be closed and detoured during construction in this area. Emergency access will be always provided. Pedestrian access will be always provided.
