This WisDOT project will replace various curb ramps along WIS 33 (Washington Street) and WIS 144 (Main Street/Barton Avenue) in the city of West Bend, Washington County.

Improvements Include:

WisDOT will be replacing approximately 277 curb ramps along WIS 144 and WIS 33.

• Reconstruct curb ramps that do not meet WisDOT/ADA standards
• Reconstruction of small areas of sidewalk and curb & gutter near curb ramp locations

Project limits: 

• WIS 33 – Between Shepherds Drive and Trenton Road
• WIS 144 – Between WIS 33 and Barton Avenue

Traffic Impacts:

WIS 33/WIS 144 will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Pedestrian access will be maintained through temporary pedestrian crossings along or across WIS 33, WIS144, or adjacent side roads.

Business and resident access will be maintained during construction.

Public Involvement:

The WisDOT project team is hosting a construction kickoff meeting ahead of the start of construction. Meeting details below:

• City of West Bend Community Library (630 Poplar Street)

Schedule: 

This project is scheduled to begin in mid-June and be completed by fall 2026. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
