Traffic impacts

Lane Closures and Detours:

• Lane closures will be required on various lanes of US 61 for base patching and milling operations. Temporary Regulatory Speed Limit Reductions will be used in the active work areas. Lane closures will utilize a Digital Speed Reduction System (DSRS) that will notify travelling public of the current speed limit in the work areas of the project. Lane closures will remain in place day, and night as work operation require their use. Please follow and obey the work zone speed limit.
• Lane closures will be required on WIS 11 for pavement removal, grading, and paving operations. A single-lane automated traffic signal system will be in place at the far east project limit on WIS 11 for a portion of the WIS 11 work area due to restricted working width in that area. We ask that all motorists stay alert in this area for slowed or stopped traffic.
• Ramp closures will be required to repair the ramps at the WIS 11 and US 61 interchange, the Badger Road interchange with US 61, the Eagle Point Road Interchange with US 61, and the ramps at the split diamond interchange at Kieler. These ramp closures will occur at various times throughout the project. All ramp closures will be accompanied by a corresponding signed detour route. Please pay close attention revised routing at detour signage in the project vicinity.

Update for 7/27 to 8/2:

USH 61

Work:

• Crews will complete the SB USH 61 traffic shift to the median lane on Thursday July 30, 2026.
• Crews will begin concrete sawing and pavement removals along NB USH 61 in the outside lanes.
• Crews will resume structure repairs at the NB Kieler interchange structures.
• Crews will complete the concrete median shoulders at the Sandy Hook Road structures in the USH 61 median.
• All activities are weather dependent which can impact progress.

Traffic:

• Lane closures will continue along USH 61 NB and SB from the Dickeyville exit and entrance ramps to the STH 11 overpass.
• Traffic will be in the inside lanes from the Dickeyville ramps to a location near the Eagle Point interchange and then shifted to the outside lanes to the STH 11 overpass.
• Speed Limit 55 mph during work operations daily. Please obey posted speeds.

STH 11
Work:

• No work anticipated.

Traffic:

• No traffic impacts expected from this project.

EAGLE POINT ROAD INTERCHANGE:

Work:

• No work anticipated.

Traffic:

• No lane closures anticipated.

USH 61
Work:

• Crews will begin guardrail removal on the outside shoulders for the 2nd Stage of the Kieler Interchange structure repairs (CTH H and CTH HHH).

• Crews will begin removal of the existing approach slabs for Stage 2 of the Kieler structure repairs.
• Crews will begin sawing concrete patch locations.
• Crews will begin Stage 2 structure repairs at the Kieler structures.
• Crews will resume structure painting at the STH 11 overpass structure B-22-61.
• All activities are weather dependent which can impact progress.

Traffic:

• Traffic will be in the inside lanes from the Dickeyville ramps to a location near the Eagle Point interchange and then shifted to the outside lanes to the STH 11 overpass.
• Speed Limit 55 mph during work operations daily. Please obey posted speeds.

EAGLE POINT ROAD INTERCHANGE:

• Closure of the southbound exit ramp from USH 61 to westbound Eagle Point Road will now occur on Wednesday August 5, 2026, from 7:00AM until 5:00PM.
• Please follow the posted detour when closed.
