Traffic impacts

Lane Closures and Detours:

• Lane closures will be required on various lanes of US 61 for base patching and milling operations. Temporary Regulatory Speed Limit Reductions will be used in the active work areas. Lane closures will utilize a Digital Speed Reduction System (DSRS) that will notify travelling public of the current speed limit in the work areas of the project. Lane closures will remain in place day, and night as work operation require their use. Please follow and obey the work zone speed limit.
• Lane closures will be required on WIS 11 for pavement removal, grading, and paving operations. A single-lane automated traffic signal system will be in place at the far east project limit on WIS 11 for a portion of the WIS 11 work area due to restricted working width in that area. We ask that all motorists stay alert in this area for slowed or stopped traffic.
• Ramp closures will be required to repair the ramps at the WIS 11 and US 61 interchange, the Badger Road interchange with US 61, the Eagle Point Road Interchange with US 61, and the ramps at the split diamond interchange at Kieler. These ramp closures will occur at various times throughout the project. All ramp closures will be accompanied by a corresponding signed detour route. Please pay close attention revised routing at detour signage in the project vicinity.

 

Update for 5/11 to 5/17:

US 61

Work:

• Crews will complete rumble strip milling between the WIS 11 overpass to the Mississippi River bridge.
• Crews will begin grading and asphalt paving the median shoulders and median crossings on US 61 from the Eagle Point Road interchange to the Dickeyville entrance and exit ramps.

Traffic:

• Median lane closures along US 61 NB and SB from the Dickeyville exit and entrance ramps to Eagle Point Road will be extended south to the WIS 11 overpass.
• Speed Limit 55 mph during work operations daily. Please obey posted speeds.

WIS 11
Work:

• Crews will place curb and gutter in the WIS 11 median at the USH 61 exit and entrance ramp terminals.
• Crews will complete rumble strip milling on WIS 11.

Traffic:

• Moving operations will be utilized along EB and WB WIS 11. Please remain alert for work operations.

 

Next week: 5/18 to 5/24

US 61
Work:

• Crews will continue asphalt paving the median shoulders and median crossings on US 61 from the Eagle Point Road interchange to the Dickeyville entrance and exit ramps.
• Crews will mill and pave the existing NB and SB outside shoulders along US 61 between Eagle Point Road and the WIS 11 overpass.

Traffic:

• Median lane closures will continue along US 61 NB and SB from the Dickeyville exit and entrance ramps to the WIS 11 overpass.
• Traffic will be shifted from the outside lane to the median lanes along NB and SB US 61 between Eagle Point Road and the WIS 11 overpass for shoulder milling and paving operations. Once completed, traffic will be returned to the outside lanes.
• Speed Limit 55 mph during work operations daily. Please obey posted speeds.

 

WIS 11
Work:

• Crews will remove temporary asphalt and place permanent asphalt on WIS 11 at the US 61 exit and entrance ramp terminals.
• Crews will be finishing topsoil in the WIS 11 median island.

Traffic:

• Anticipate EB and WB median lane closures on WIS 11 to complete topsoil finishing.
• Moving operations will be utilized along EB and WB WIS 11. Please remain alert for work operations.
