Traffic impacts

Lane Closures and Detours:

• Lane closures will be required on various lanes of US 61 for base patching and milling operations. Temporary Regulatory Speed Limit Reductions will be used in the active work areas. Lane closures will utilize a Digital Speed Reduction System (DSRS) that will notify travelling public of the current speed limit in the work areas of the project. Lane closures will remain in place day, and night as work operation require their use. Please follow and obey the work zone speed limit.
• Lane closures will be required on WIS 11 for pavement removal, grading, and paving operations. A single-lane automated traffic signal system will be in place at the far east project limit on WIS 11 for a portion of the WIS 11 work area due to restricted working width in that area. We ask that all motorists stay alert in this area for slowed or stopped traffic.
• Ramp closures will be required to repair the ramps at the WIS 11 and US 61 interchange, the Badger Road interchange with US 61, the Eagle Point Road Interchange with US 61, and the ramps at the split diamond interchange at Kieler. These ramp closures will occur at various times throughout the project. All ramp closures will be accompanied by a corresponding signed detour route. Please pay close attention revised routing at detour signage in the project vicinity.

Update for 8/3 to 8/9:

USH 61

Work:

• Crews will continue sawing concrete patch locations.
• Crews will continue Stage 2 structure repairs at the Kieler structures.
• Crews will pave the median asphalt shoulders at the Sandy Hook Road structures.

• All activities are weather dependent which can impact progress.

Traffic:

• Lane closures will continue along USH 61 NB and SB from the Dickeyville exit and entrance ramps to the STH 11 overpass.
• Traffic will be in the inside lanes from the Dickeyville ramps to a location near the Eagle Point interchange and then shifted to the outside lanes to the STH 11 overpass.
• Speed Limit 55 mph during work operations daily. Please obey posted speeds.

STH 11
Work:

• No work anticipated.

Traffic:

• No traffic impacts expected from this project.

EAGLE POINT ROAD INTERCHANGE:

Work:

• No work anticipated.

Traffic:

• No lane closures anticipated.

Next week: (8/17 to 8/23)

USH 61
Work:

• Crews will continue sawing concrete patch locations.
• Crews will continue Stage 2 structure repairs at the Kieler structures.
• Crews will grade, place shoulder gravel, and guardrail at the Sandy Hook Road structures in the median.
• Crews will relocate temporary barrier wall at the Sandy Hook Road structure in preparation for the Stage 2 structure repairs along the outside lane and shoulders.
• All activities are weather dependent which can impact progress.

Traffic:

• Traffic will be in the inside lanes from the Dickeyville ramps to a location near the Eagle Point interchange and then shifted to the outside lanes to the STH 11 overpass early in the week.
• Mid-week NB and SB traffic will be shifted to the median lanes from a location near the Eagle Point interchange to the STH 11 overpass. At this time all NB and SB traffic will be in the median lanes from the Dickeyville exit and entrance ramps to the STH 11 overpass.
• Speed Limit 55 mph during work operations daily. Please obey posted speeds.
