US 51 will remain open to traffic with shoulder closures

Project update

• Remainder of the week May 27 – May 29: The contractor is continuing with excavation today near Tower Dr on the NB lanes. Tomorrow the crew will remove the remaining pavement near the north end of the project near Exchange St. Friday the electrical crew will be in to start on electrical work, trucks will continue hauling in aggregate, and storm sewer construction may be begin yet this week.
• Week of June 1st – Crews will be working on installing storm sewer at the two intersections. Trucks will continue hauling in aggregate materials for the roadway.

Stage 2 Notes:

• Exchange St is CLOSED till late July or early August. Please plan to use alternate routes.
• There may be up to 3 overnight closures of USH 51 during stage 2. The contractor is anticipating these will be as early as late next week. This will be confirmed when we get closer.
• Stage 2 is expected to run through the end of July or early August. As the project progresses, this date will be updated.
