US 51 will remain open to traffic with shoulder closures
Project update
Crews have completed the mainline slip form portion of concrete placement for the project and will now move into placing curb and gutter. Forecasted rains tonight may once again slow progress if we receive as much as they are predicting. I have also included some info on the adjacent projects later in the update as requested by some residents. Below is this week’s update.
- Remainder of this week: Crews are in today to work on adjusting inlets and rough grading for the curb and gutter. Crews will be in to fine grade for curb and gutter also.
- Weekend work: No work is anticipated this weekend but may change depending on weather the next day or so.
- Week of September 28th – Concrete crews will be in to place curb and gutter and electrical work will resume. Later in the week, grading crews will be in to start preparing for the hand pours of concrete pavement in the roundabout areas.
Stage 3 Notes:
The anticipated closure of Tower Road has been pushed back approximately a week. As of today, the contractor is anticipating that the closure will now start on 10/12/26. More information on the closure will be available in next week’s update.
Exchange St is open to right in – right out movements only. Signing is in place noting no left turns. Please DO NOT attempt U-Turns.
The travel lanes across the future roundabouts do have some decent grade changes across them. Please slow down when traveling through them.
Stage 3 is anticipated to last till approximately late October. With the switch to Stage 4, the roundabouts at Tower and Exchange will be operational allowing all movements in the intersections.
