Traffic impacts

Traffic on US 51 will be maintained in stages:

• Stage 1: One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on the outside lanes while work occurs on the inside lanes.
• Stage 2: Traffic will then shift to the inside lanes while work is completed on the outside lanes.

Additional impacts include:

• No left turns from Delavan Drive during construction
• Short-term closures and flagging operations at times
• Access to local properties will be maintained whenever possible
• Temporary interruptions to driveways or sidewalks may occur during active work; advance notice will be provided when access is affected

Weekly update

Current Construction Operations:

• Traffic Control is being staged in preparation for the Road Work to begin on Monday July 13, 2026.
• USH 51 NB and SB will have inside lane closures.  Traffic will be shifted to a single lane on the outside right lanes, one lane in each direction.
• Delavan Drive will have restricted left turns.  No Left turn movement from Delavan Drive in both directions, Right Turn Only movement.

Upcoming Construction Operations:

• Crews will work on setting up all the traffic control staging and pedestrian access.
• Crews will begin work on the inside lanes and median curb work in the work zone.
• See attached the overview of the project location and work limits.

Traffic Updates:

• USH 51 NB and SB will have inside lane closures.  Traffic will be shifted to a single lane on the outside right lanes, one lane in each direction.
• Delavan Drive will have restricted left turns.  No Left turn movement from Delavan Drive in both directions, Right Turn Only movement.
• Stage 1 will be in effect, see attachment for traffic movements during Stage 1.
