US 18 and WIS 23 intersections will have lane closures
Weekly update
Current Construction Operations (Week of 5/25/2026):
- Traffic switch from stage 1 to stage 3 & 6 occurred on 5/26/26
- Pavement sawing at US 18 and WIS 23 intersection
- Curb & Gutter/Sidewalk removal at both intersections
- No work anticipated over weekend (5/30/26 – 5/31/26)
Upcoming Construction Operations (Week of 6/1/2026):
- Foundation drilling for new traffic signal bases at both intersections
- Electrical installation for new traffic signals at both intersections
- No work anticipated over weekend (6/6/26 – 6/7/26)
Current Traffic Information:
- The inside lane and left turn lanes of US 18 will continue to be closed to traffic to allow for stage 1 construction operations. This closure will be continuous and last until the completion of stage 1 which is tentatively scheduled through 5/26/26.

US 18/WIS 23 Intersection
- US 18 EB – inside lane and left turn lane
- US 18 WB – inside lane and left turn lane
US 18/Johns St Intersection
- US 18 EB – inside lane and left turn lane
- US 18 WB – inside lane and left turn lane
Upcoming Traffic Information:
- Traffic switch from stage 1 to stage 3 (US 18 & WIS 23) and stage 6 (US 18 & Johns St) to occur on Tuesday 5/26/26.
- There are various lane closures for stage 3 & 6. These closures will be continuous and last until the completion of each stage.
- The closures will prevent truck traffic from turning on US 18 EB from WIS 23 and Johns St. The posted detour route for trucks will be to follow WIS 23 SB and merge onto US 151 EB and continue onto US 18 EB. See below image of detour route.
