Project Overview
This project includes three locations in the City of Dodgeville:
- WIS 23 (from 0.04 miles South of Pine St to Rowe Rd)
- US 18 (WIS 23 Intersection)
- US 18 (Johns Street Intersection)
WIS 23 (0.04 Mi South of Pine St to Rowe Rd) – WIS 23 is currently a four-lane undivided roadway. The current four-lane configuration will be reconfigured to a three-lane TWLTL (two way left turn lane) configuration with one dedicated northbound lane, one dedicated southbound lane, and one bidirectional continuous turn lane, or TLWTL. Additional improvements include:
- Update pavement markings
- Addition of bike lanes
- The lanes of WIS 23 at County YZ/King Street will have dedicated turn and through lanes
US 18 (WIS 23 Intersection) – US 18 is a four-lane divided roadway with right turn lanes and negatively offset left turn lanes. The US 18 left turn lanes will be refigured to provide a positive offset that will allow for additional sight distance for opposing left turning vehicles. Additional improvements:
- The WIS 23 lane will have dedicated turn and through lanes
- Signal equipment will be replaced
- Curb ramps will be updated to meet ADA standards
US 18 (Johns Street Intersection) – US 18 is a four-lane divided roadway with right turn lanes and negatively offset left turn lanes. The US 18 left turn lanes will be refigured to provide a positive offset that will allow for additional sight distance for opposing left turning vehicles. Additional improvements:
- Johns Street left turn lanes will be reconfigured and positively offset
- Signal equipment replacement
- Updated curb ramps to meet ADA standards
