Traffic Impacts

Motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging operations from Elk Mound through Colfax.

  • WIS 40 is fully closed south of 855th
    • The closure is located about halfway between N8335 WIS 40 and 855th
    • Traffic will be detoured via WIS 29, I-94, WIS 25 and WIS 170.
      • WIS 40 will reopen to traffic by the end of the day.
    • WIS 40 is expected to close at the railroad tracks in Colfax Monday, Aug. 10 for track replacement and roadway approach reconstruction.
      • Traffic will be detoured via 5th Avenue, Dunn Street and Railroad Avenue.
      • The closure is anticipated to be in place for two weeks.
