Traffic Impacts

Motorists will encounter shoulder and parking lane closures in Colfax once work resumes Tuesday, May 26.

  • In addition:
    • The bridge on WIS 40 south of the WIS 170 intersection is restricted to a single-lane of traffic – with a maximum width of 12 feet – controlled by temporary traffic signals.
    • Temporary crossings are shifting pedestrians to the west and north side of WIS 40.

During railroad crossing replacement in Colfax, WIS 40 is expected to be closed for a week.

  • Traffic will be detoured via 5th Avenue, Dunn Street and Railroad Avenue.

During replacement of the approach slabs, the US 12 bridge over WIS 29 is expected to be closed for two weeks.

  • Traffic will be detoured via County H in Elk Mound and County HH.
