Project location
The project is located on US 10 between the villages of Reedsville and Whitelaw in the municipalities of Maple Grove, Rockland, Franklin, and Cato in Manitowoc County.
Schedule
Construction begins on May 6, 2024, and finishes in fall 2024.
Project improvements
This is a reconstruction-level improvement to create more passing opportunities between Reedsville and Whitelaw. Work includes:
- Construction of two miles of an eastbound passing lane between Manitowoc Street/Pleasant View Road and County G.
- Construction of two miles of a westbound passing lane between County G and Fritsch Lane.
- Reconstruction of short sections of Rocky Ledge Lane, Menchalville Road, and Fritsch Lane to match the new passing lanes.
- Installation of new signing and pavement marking in the passing lanes.
Traffic impacts
US 10 will remain open to traffic during construction.
- Motorists can expect to encounter lane shifts and flagging operations.
- WisDOT will contact homeowners and businesses when working directly in front of the driveway to coordinate daily access.
