Highway Maintenance Traffic Impacts in Northeast Wisconsin

Scheduled traffic impacts week of April 20 for highway maintenance

NOTICE: THERE ARE EMERGENCY CLOSURES DUE TO FLOODING IN MANITOWOC, OUTAGAMIE, SHAWANO, WAUPACA:

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region provides a weekly list of expected upcoming traffic impacts for maintenance work on state highways in Northeast Wisconsin and maintenance/inspections on the state’s lift bridges. Maintenance is provided by county highway department crews or WisDOT Bureau of Structures bridge experts. Maintenance operation schedules can change due to weather and maintenance crew manpower. Check back often for schedule and traffic impact updates throughout the week.

Northeast Wisconsin Lift Bridge 2026 Routine Maintenance and Inspections

Bridge engineers and maintenance crews will conduct routine maintenance and inspection of the following lift bridges in Northeast Wisconsin. Work typically includes inspection of the electrical, mechanical, and hydrological systems, along with structural inspections of the infrastructure. Crews will also conduct bridge washing during the annual bridge maintenance. Sturgeon Bay lift bridges inspection and maintenance

  • April 27: Bayview Bridge FULL CLOSURE from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Maintenance includes concrete patching needed on the deck.
  • April 28: Maple/Oregon Bridge FULL CLOSURE 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Maintenance includes removing delaminated epoxy.
  • April 29: Maple/Oregon lane closures from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Lane closures needed for washing underneath the bridge.
  • May 4: Michigan Street Bridge FULL CLOSURE from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Highway maintenance

Brown County

  • Maintenance crews will be installing a sign on NB I-43 at Town Hall Road on Monday, April 20 to Thursday, April 24 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. A lane closure will be used during repairs.
  • Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on SB I-43 at the Leo Frigo Bridge on Thursday, April 24 from 2 to 6 a.m. A moving lane closure will be used during repairs.
  • Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on NB and SB I-43 between WIS 172 and Bairds Creek on Thursday, April 24 from 2 to 6 a.m. A moving lane closure will be used during repairs.

Manitowoc County

  • Maintenance crews will be installing a sign on NB I-43 at WIS 147 on Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 25 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. A lane closure will be used during repairs.

Oconto County

  • Maintenance crews will be repairing a ditch/slope on NB US 41 at County D on Monday, April 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  A moving lane closure will be used during repairs.

Sheboygan County

  • Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on NB and SB WIS 57 between County O and Woodland Road on Wednesday, April 23 from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. A flagging operation will be used during repairs.
  • Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on EB and WB WIS 23 between County P and WIS 32 on Monday, April 20 to Thursday, April 24 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. A moving lane closure will be used during repairs.

Winnebago County

  • Maintenance crews will be working on a retaining wall on NB US 45 at Brooks Road on Monday, April 20 to Tuesday, April 28. A continuous lane closure will be used during repairs.
