Highway Maintenance Traffic Impacts in Northeast Wisconsin

Scheduled traffic impacts week of May 4 for highway maintenance

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region provides a weekly list of expected upcoming traffic impacts for maintenance work on state highways in Northeast Wisconsin and maintenance/inspections on the state’s lift bridges. Maintenance is provided by county highway department crews or WisDOT Bureau of Structures bridge experts. Maintenance operation schedules can change due to weather and maintenance crew manpower. Check back often for schedule and traffic impact updates throughout the week.

Northeast Wisconsin Lift Bridge 2026 Routine Maintenance and Inspections

Bridge engineers and maintenance crews will conduct routine maintenance and inspection of the following lift bridges in Northeast Wisconsin. Work typically includes inspection of the electrical, mechanical, and hydrological systems, along with structural inspections of the infrastructure. Crews will also conduct bridge washing during the annual bridge maintenance. Sturgeon Bay lift bridges

  • May 4: Michigan Street Bridge FULL CLOSURE from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for routine maintenance and inspections.

City of Oshkosh lift bridges

  • Tuesday, May 5: Oregon/Jackson Street Bridge FULL CLOSURE from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • An ariel drone will be used during inspections.
    • Maintenance includes concrete deck inspection.
  • Wednesday, May 6: Wisconsin Street Bridge FULL CLOSURE 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for routine inspection and maintenance
  • Thursday, May 7: WIS 21/Congress Avenue Bridge FULL CLOSURE from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for routine inspection and maintenance.

City of Menasha lift bridge

  • Monday, May 11: Tayco Street Bridge FULL CLOSURE from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for routine inspection and maintenance.

Highway maintenance

Brown County

  • Maintenance crews will have overhead electrical work on EB and WB WIS 172 between Webster Ave and County GV on Wednesday, May 6 from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. A lane closure will be used during repairs.

Fond du Lac County

  • Maintenance crews will be repairing beam guard on SB US 151 at County V on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5 from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A lane closure will be used during repairs.

Outagamie County

  • Maintenance crews will be sweeping on WIS 15 between Lily of the Valley Road and I-41, daily, Monday, May 4 to Friday, May 8 from 3 to 11 a.m.  A moving lane closure will be used during repairs.

Sheboygan County

  • Maintenance crews will be repairing pavement on EB and WB WIS 23 between 23rd Street and the west county line on Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. A moving lane closure will be used during repairs.
