I-94 Hudson, WIS 35–US 12

Hudson

Project Overview

Location

I-94, WIS 35 North to 0.85 miles east of the US 12/County U Interchange, WIS 35 South from Hanley Road to I-94 in St. Croix County.

Overview

Plans to upgrade operations and safety of I-94 in Hudson are currently underway. The project includes construction of additional lanes between WIS 35 North and US 12/County U interchanges and additional lanes on the ramps at the WIS 35 South interchange.

The project also includes replacement of the bridge decks of the I-94 structures over WIS 35 North and Front Street and the construction of an emergency crossover near the St. Croix River on I-94.

A noise analysis was performed during preliminary design to determine the feasibility of noise abatement. Two noise barriers will be built with this project. More information about the analysis and location of noise barriers can be found here.

Why is the project needed?

The project is intended to reduce congestion and provide efficient and safe access to I-94. This is necessary due to the ever-increasing commuter traffic flowing from the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

How will traffic be impacted?

Information regarding lane closures, ramp closures, temporary traffic signals and more can be found under the Traffic Impacts tab.
