Traffic impacts

I-39 will remain open to traffic with continuous single lane closures Monday through Thursday

I-39 will have double nighttime lane closures

County V interchange ramp closures will take place intermittently throughout the project, motorists are encouraged to utilize WIS 19 and WIS 60 during these closures

Weekly update

Current Construction Operations (Week of 4/19/2026):

• Nightly double lane closures will occur on I 39 NB and SB between CTH V and the Dane County Line from Sunday night to Saturday night. Lanes will be reduced from 3 lanes to 2 lanes in each direction from Sunday evening to Thursday morning. Work includes saw cutting & concrete pavement patching.
  • The off-ramp from SB I-39 to CTH V will be closed Friday evening to Saturday morning. A detour will be posted to follow I-39 to STH 19 during this closure.

Upcoming Construction Operations (Week of 4/26/2026):

• Nightly lane closures will occur on I 39 NB and SB between CTH V and the Dane County Line from Sunday night to Saturday night.
  • Ramps on I-39 to/from CTH V may be closed during this overnight period to facilitate this work. A max of 1 ramp may be closed at any given time. Detours will be provided with advance warning of ramp closures to guide motorists.
