Traffic impacts

I-39 will remain open to traffic with continuous single lane closures Monday through Thursday

I-39 will have double nighttime lane closures

County V interchange ramp closures will take place intermittently throughout the project, motorists are encouraged to utilize WIS 19 and WIS 60 during these closures

Weekly update

Current Construction Operations (Week of 8/30/2026):

• Nightly lane closures will occur on I 39 NB and SB between CTH V and the Dane County Line from Monday night to Friday morning. Work includes rumble strip installation and punch list items.
  • All work to be suspended by Friday at noon for Labor Day Weekend.
  • I39 off ramps to CTH V to be closed nightly starting at 8PM and reopening by 7AM.
  • On ramp from CTH V to I39 to be closed nightly starting at 8PM and reopening by 7AM.

Upcoming Construction Operations (Week of 9/6/2026):

• Nightly lane closures will occur on I 39 NB and SB between CTH V and the Dane County Line from Tuesday night to Sunday morning as needed for punch list work.
  • All work is suspended for the Labor Day Weekend from noon Friday to 6AM Tuesday morning.
  • Ramps on I-39 to/from CTH V may be closed during this overnight period to facilitate this work. Detours will be provided with advance warning of ramp closures to guide motorists.
