This WisDOT project will make various improvements to the bridge structures along I-794 between the Marquette Interchange and the Lake Interchange in the city if Milwaukee.

Project Improvements:

• Deck sealing and polyester polymer concrete overlays of various bridges along I-794
• High friction surface treatments
• Concrete approach slab repairs
• Concrete surface repair on parapet walls
• New permanent pavement markings

This project will be completed over the course of two construction seasons:

• 2026: Eastbound structures
• 2027: Westbound structures

Traffic Impacts:

The majority of this project will be completed during the overnight hours with various lane, ramp, and full directional closures.

Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.

Schedule:

This project is scheduled to begin in May 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027. Work will be paused during the winter months.
