Greenfield Avenue Reconstruction - S. 56th Street to S. 47th Street

Project Details

This project will reconstruct Greenfield Avenue from S. 47th Street to S. 56th Street. in the Village of West Milwaukee.

The project will also include:

  • Reconstruction of the existing pavement structure, curb and gutter, sidewalk and storm sewer laterals within the project limits
  • Replacement of existing street lights with new LED lights
  • Replacement of existing signals on Greenfield Avenue at the intersection of Beloit Road with new monotube signals
  • Improvement of pedestrian crossings within the corridor
  • Replacement of sidewalk within the corridor
  • Streetscape amenities and landscaping

Stage 1: During this stage, westbound traffic between S.56th Street and Brewers Boulevard is scheduled to close, and eastbound traffic will use the existing eastbound lane.

  • Westbound traffic detour: Brewers Boulevard to National Avenue to Greenfield Avenue.

Stage 2: Eastbound traffic will be shifted to utilize the new westbound side of Greenfield Avenue from S. 56th Street to S. 47th Street. During this stage, westbound traffic between Brewers Boulevard and S.56th Street is scheduled to remain closed.

  • Westbound traffic detour: Brewers Boulevard to National Avenue to Greenfield Avenue.

Access to businesses and residents will be maintained during construction. Specific side roads are scheduled to close in alternate sub-stages, with cross-access at alternate blocks.
