This WisDOT project will make various improvements to approximately 2.7 miles of US 45 (124th Street), between WIS 20 and County K, in Racine County.

Project Improvements:

The purpose of this project is to address the deteriorating pavement condition and fix drainage issues. Work will include:

• Resurface US 45 within project limits (mill 2.5 inches of existing asphalt and replace with 3.5 inches of new asphalt)
• Base patching and joint crack repair
• Install storm sewer near northbound US 45 and County K to improve drainage
• Remove two retaining walls on the northern end of the project and regrade the area

Traffic Impacts:

US 45 (124th Street) will be closed to through traffic during construction. A detour will be posted utilizing WIS 20 and WIS 36 (see map tab for detour map)

Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Schedule:

Construction is scheduled to begin in early June 2026 and be completed by late summer 2026.
