This project will make improvements and repairs to 13 existing noise walls in Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. The noise walls are located along various segments of I-41 and I-43. No new noise walls will be added, and no existing noise walls will be replaced as part of this project.

Improvements:

There are 12 noise walls in Milwaukee County and one noise wall in Waukesha County that will be repaired. Improvements include:

• Spot painting
• Concrete surface repair
• Panel Replacement
• Post replacement
• Replace support brackets
• Installation of steel angles

Limited clearing and grubbing will be required at access select walls.

Traffic Impacts:

Because of the wide-ranging scope of work, traffic impacts will be dependent upon noise wall location. Longer-term shoulder closures, overnight single-lane closures, as well as overnight ramp closures may be needed. Flagging operations on local streets may occasionally be required.

Access to residents, businesses and emergency services will be coordinated and maintained throughout the duration of construction work.

Schedule:

Work is scheduled to begin in early March 2024 and be complete by late summer 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
