The WIS 31 project will improve approximately 1.5 miles of roadway, from WIS 11 to WIS 20 in Racine County. Construction will occur over two years, in separate phases to minimize impacts:

• WIS 11 to Margaery Drive will be constructed in 2026.
  • Construction is scheduled to begin mid-March.
• Castle Court to WIS 20 will be constructed in 2027.

Traffic Impacts

• WIS 31 will remain open to traffic with lane closures and intermittent side-street closures to complete work.
• Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained.

Project Improvements

• Replacing pavement, storm sewers, and upgrading traffic signals.
• Constructing medians at unsignalized intersections.
• Installing sidewalks for pedestrian and transit access.
• Widening shoulders for bicyclists.
• Extending turn lanes and improving sight lines.
• Shifting the roadway alignment north of Castle Court to minimize impacts to historic church properties.
