Project Updates

June 24 Update:

Project work that occurred this past week (6/17 – 6/21):

  • Completed asphalt paving the lower layer of asphalt for lanes 2 and 3 of WIS 20, first eastbound and then westbound and the intersecting side roads within the project, on Saturday 6/15 and Monday 6/17 – Wednesday 6/19.
  • Completed the curb and gutter in Stage 1 of the project; began forming and pouring some sections of concrete sidewalk.
  • Installing pull boxes for the new traffic signals and prepped and poured some concrete traffic signal bases for the new traffic signals at some of the intersections. Continuing to work on the remaining other bases and pull boxes.
  • Reset all pedestrian accommodations and traffic control following asphalt paving.
  • Placed rip rap and topsoil around the Pike River box culvert.

Anticipated work for this week (6/24 – 6/28):

  • Continue to work on the traffic signals equipment at Emmertsen Rd. and Village Center Dr.
  • Continue forming and then pouring the new concrete sidewalks and permanent pedestrian ramps.
  • Install some permanent signs around the outside of the project.
  • Install guard rail at the Pike River box culvert
  • Complete any remaining storm sewer and sanitary sewer adjustments and plating prior to asphalt paving.

Long-Term Schedule Outlook (7/1 – 7/13):

  • Planning to pave surface layer of asphalt for lane 3 (outside lane) and the intersecting side roads on the project by possibly mid-July.
  • Continue working on new traffic signals, including setting new monotube poles around the outsides of intersections.

Traffic changes happening in the next 7 days:

  • Middle and outside lanes will continue to remain closed.
  • Continue same traffic control configuration long-term for the next 3-4 weeks, expecting until mid-July, and then switching to Stage 2 in which the middle and inside lanes are closed.
