This project is complete! WisDOT resurfaced and made improvements to approximately 8.5 miles of WIS 144, between Skyline Drive in the city of West Bend and the Washington/Sheboygan County line.

Improvements: 

• Mill two (2) inches of existing asphalt and replace it with two (2) inches of new asphalt
• Remove and replace existing guardrail to meet current standards
• Plant living snow fence (shrubs) in select locations
• Replace curb ramps to meet ADA standards
• Remove cattle pass near the county line and replace it with a culvert pipe

Note: At the intersection of WIS 144 and County H, the existing pavement will remain. A roundabout will be constructed at this location in the future. The gap will be re-striped to maintain visibility of pavement markings. View future roundabout project here.

Schedule: 

Work is scheduled to begin in late March and was completed in mid June 2026.
