The purpose of the project is to address the existing asphalt pavement, which is showing signs of deterioration in the form of transverse cracking, rutting and alligator cracking. The existing guardrail and curb ramps do not meet current standards and is in need of updating.

Improvements include:

• Removing the existing asphalt surface and replacing it with new asphalt from Lien Court to East School Street and from the Pecatonica River to County H
• Replace the pavement between East School Street and the Pecatonica River
  • This will include removing the existing pavement structure and placing new aggregates, new asphaltic pavement and new curb & gutter
• Sidewalks will be replaced from West School Street to the Pecatonica River
• Curb ramps within the project limits will be updated to meet current standards
• Guardrail will be upgraded throughout the project to meet current standards
