Update:

Construction Work occurring and anticipated over the next few weeks:

• Contractors are removing old guard rail and grading on the slopes behind the rail. Work continues north of Plain and south of Plain on this work over the next month.
  • New shoulder is constructed under the new rail
  • New guard rail is being installed each week
• Bridge construction continues between Valley View and Highpoint Road. Bridge girders were set on the northern bridge and a deck pour is coming soon.  The southern bridge will be demolished, and construction will begin on this new second structure.
• Work in Plain is currently scheduled to begin around July 15^th.  Temporary pedestrian access will be setup as well as additional traffic control. Work will include removal and replacement of pieces of curb and gutter, sidewalk and some storm pipe work.  This work is anticipated to take a month to complete.
  • Delays on HWY 23 in Plain will occur as the contractor works to make the improvements.
  • Additional information will be coming to those businesses directly affected by this work.

NOTES:

• Speed Limit on STH 23 has been reduced to 45mph. This is an effort to slow traffic down and keep everyone safe.

WIS 23 will be closed and detoured for the duration of construction utilizing US 14, WIS 130, and WIS 154.
