Proposed project plans to address 6.6 miles of deteriorating pavement on WIS 23 from WIS 33 to I-90 in Sauk County. The project consists of removing 4.75 inches of existing pavement and paving 5 inches of new asphaltic pavement. All existing curb and gutter is planned to remain in place.

Additional improvements include:

• Widening the paved shoulders to 6 feet from Turtle Road to Water Street
• Replacing the beam guard at the bridge over Dell Creek
• Replacing the beam guard at the bridge over Dell Creek
• Subgrade improvement just west of the bridge over Dell Creek, for approximately 650 feet
• Subgrade improvement just north of Shady Lane for approximately 1,200 feet
