The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) plans to improve this 8 mile section of WIS 16 near West Salem. The current roadway is aged and deteriorated with extensive cracking and rutting.

Improvements include:

• Pavement removal and replacement with asphaltic pavement
• Replacing curb and gutter
• Guardrail replacement
• Rumble strips added
• New pavement marking
• Repairs to culverts
