US 53 South remains open to traffic, but:

• Motorists will encounter lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 60 mph in work zones.
• US 53 South reopens to two lanes of traffic, with a 70-mph speed limit between closures.
• There is a maximum width of 15 feet 3 inches on the open lane on most bridges.

FULL CLOSURE: Southbound US 53 will be closed from 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 to 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10 at County I (Exit 126, Chetek) and County M (Exit 118, New Auburn), so damages resulting from a crash in the work zone can be repaired.

• Traffic will be detoured via County I, County SS and County M.
