US 51 from Spring Road to 5^th Street will have the following improvements:

• Reconstructing the existing 2-lane urban section to include a travel lane and bicycle lane in each direction.
• Reconstructing sidewalk, curb ramps, and crosswalks to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
• Installing a new pedestrian refuge island at Ashberry Lane.
• Reconstructing the 5^th Street retaining wall.
• Upgrading signal equipment and providing a protected left turning phase at the County N intersection.
• Installing continuous street lighting between 5^th Street and County N.
