Weekly update – week of 6/23/25
Current Construction Operations:
- Crew on site this week continuing the installation of the new water main
- Crew also working on new storm sewer installation.
Upcoming Construction Operations:
- Crew will continue installation of the new water main next week.
- Grading crew will be on site to excavate material and place new stone on the east side of the intersection.
- Concrete pavement placement possible for late next week or early the week after on the east side of the intersection.
Traffic Updates:
- Southbound US 51 traffic is detoured to US 14 by the Lions Quick Mart to I-39/90 to WIS 11 back to US 51 by the Kwik Trip.
- Northbound US 51 traffic is detoured to WIS 11 by the Kwik Trip to I-39/90 to US 14 back to US 51 by the Lions Quick Mart.

- Stage 1 will be in effect, see attachment for visual of the closure extents. The intersection is fully closed to all traffic, please plan accordingly.
Local Business Access:
- As a general note, all businesses near the intersection, or in the area surrounding the intersection are still open and greatly appreciate your business. Especially during construction when the route to the businesses has changed.
- Be sure to contact the businesses ahead of time to find the best route there.
Construction tentatively begins: March 24, 2025
Anticipated completion: mid-August 2025
Traffic impacts
Us 51 intersection will be constructed in stages.
- Stage 1: March 24 – July 3
- Full closure of the US 51 intersection. Detour utilizes US 14, I-39 and WIS 11.
- Stage 2: July 4 – August 15
- US 51 open to one lane of traffic in both directions.
