Regionwide projects are designed to complete similar work types at multiple locations in multiple counties. This allows for the project to be administered and constructed efficiently, under a single contract, rather than several smaller contracts.

Regionwide Epoxy Pavement Marking

Holiday work restrictions (no work/hauling): 

  • From noon Friday, May 28, 2021 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 for Memorial Day
  • From noon Friday, July 2, 2021 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2021 for Independence Day
  • From noon Friday, September 3, 2021 to 6 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 for Labor Day

Traffic impacts for week of May 10, 2021:

  • Motorists can expect to encounter a moving line painting operation on southbound and northbound I-39 in two sections.
  • The first is also on I-39 beginning at the Marquette County line just north of County Z and continuing to the south to the southern Marquette County line just south of County O.
  • The second is on Northbound I-39 beginning at the southern limit of County O just north of Hancock north to the intersection of Business 51/I-39 on the north side of Stevens Point.
  • Drivers should be aware of this rolling lane closure and be prepared to move into a single lane while passing the operation.

Regionwide Bridge Surface Repairs

Counties: Green Lake, Waupaca

Schedule: May 17, 2021 to late August 2021

Cost: $438,166

Project description: Work will include completing minor bridge surface repairs and installing a polymer overlay on the entire bridge surface to seal the concrete and improve vehicle traction on the bridge surface.

Pedestrian impacts: 

  • Pedestrian and bicycle trail access will be maintained on the WIS 54/WIS 22 bridge in Waupaca. A 24/7 shuttle service will be used during a portion of the work while polymer application cures. Width restrictions will be posted.

Traffic impacts for week of May 10, 2021:

  • Intermittent flagging operations at all Waupaca County bridge locations to accommodate bridge deck sounding at various times throughout week.
  • Lane closures for bridge deck repair & polymer overlay work scheduled to begin 5/17/21 at Waupaca County structures (refer to above schedule).
  • All lanes will be open to traffic during the 4th of July and the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.

Anticipated work scheduled for week of May 10, 2021:

  • Contractor to install traffic control signage and sound all bridge decks in Waupaca County in advance of polymer overlay construction scheduled to begin on May 17 at WIS 49 over S. Branch Little Wolf River
