Construction includes:

• Removing and replacing the bridge
• Widening the east side of US 63 north of the bridge and shifting the Spruce Street intersection to the east
• Converting the current northbound US 63 lane into a left-turn lane for southbound US 63 traffic to turn onto Spruce
  • Vehicles traveling south on US 63 frequently encounter stopped vehicles waiting to turn left onto Spruce Street, resulting in a high frequency of rear-end crashes.
• Constructing a new northbound US 63 lane east of the new turn lane.
• Replacing the culvert under Spruce Street
• Replacing pavement markings and signage
