Replacement of bridge includes:

• Removing and replacing the bridge carrying 50th Avenue over WIS 29
  • The project will increase the vertical height of the structure over the highway.
• Building retaining walls along east- and westbound WIS 29 at the abutments
• Reconstructing 50th Avenue and the WIS 29 interchange ramps
• Replacing culverts
• Installing new guardrail along 50th Avenue in all quadrants of the bridge and on WIS 29 around the bridge piers in the median
• Placing new pavement markings

Reconstruction of the County J/50th Avenue intersection includes:

• Building a single-lane roundabout to replace the four-way stop intersection
• Reconstructing the approach pavement on all four legs of the roundabout
• Increasing the roadway profile an average of three feet to accommodate the profile rise of the new bridge
• Replacing storm sewer
