Traffic Impacts

WIS 29 is open to traffic, but motorists will encounter a 55-mph speed limit in both directions where crews are working and the following next week on:

  • Eastbound WIS 29:
    • Single-lane closure from Koser Avenue to the WIS 73/ County M interchange
    • Single-lane closure from Gorman Avenue to Sterling Avenue
      • Single-lane closure from County O to County D and an 11-foot width restriction on the Black River Bridge
      • Eastbound wide loads will be directed to exit at County O or WIS 73/County M.
  • Westbound WIS 29:
    • Single-lane closure from Koser Avenue to Gorman Avenue
    • Single-lane closure from Fischer Avenue to 0.5 mile east of Sterling Avenue
    • Single-lane closure from the Black River Bridge to County D and a 16-foot width restriction on the Black River Bridge
  • WIS 73/County M interchange (Exit 108, Thorp)
    • The eastbound WIS 29 on- and off-ramps and westbound WIS 29 on-ramp are expected to close from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. one to two nights each between Aug. 12-16 for concrete repair/replacement.
    • Motorists will be directed by flaggers on County M for curb and gutter work.
  • WIS 73/County T interchange (Exit 118, Withee, Greenwood and Neillsville)
    • The eastbound WIS 29 off-ramp and westbound WIS 29 on-ramp are scheduled to close for a week starting Thursday, Aug. 14.
      • Traffic will be detoured via eastbound WIS 29 to the Cardinal Avenue/County X interchange (Exit 122) to westbound WIS 29 to WIS 73/County T.
  • Side roads:
    • Motorists will be directed by flaggers when paving through side road intersections in both directions on WIS 29.
