Project Improvements

• This project will provide a High Friction Surface Treatment (HFST) along the north and south lanes of I-94, between Layton Avenue and 13th Street, in the Mitchell Interchange. HFSTs are a specially-engineered pavement overlay that has a rougher texture and greater surface area to provide additional friction. These treatments are generally applied to short sections of the roadway to increase the friction that is diminished by existing pavement condition, roadway design or wet weather.

Traffic Impacts

To help minimize traffic impacts, any temporary lane restrictions or ramp closures are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours. Intermittent, overnight detours will be posted.
