The existing facilities have reached the end of their service lives. The current needs include: Roadway deficiencies including pavement deterioration and ramp geometry. Insufficient parking capacity for the current needs of commercial motor vehicles. Facility modernization including improved restroom facilities, building mechanicals, ADA accessibility, and aesthetics.

The improvement project will include:

• Reconstructing the building to a new modern rest area building. The new building will include family-assisted restrooms and be ADA compliant
• Construction of new maintenance garage
• Reconstructing the parking lots and ramp roadways
