The project will prevent further pavement deterioration which can create safety concerns. The pavement also has intense localized distress directly adjacent to all six bridges within the project limits. The purpose of the project will preserve the roadway and minimize the overall life cycle cost of the corridor.

Improvements include:

• Resurfacing I-43
• Replace pavement in localized areas around bridge approaches
• Repair six bridge decks within the project limits
