Why is fencing on the Hoan Bridge needed?

Located beneath the Hoan Bridge is the Summerfest grounds, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District and the Port of Milwaukee. Falling debris (such as plowed snow and ice, auto parts, and trash). poses safety concerns for workers and pedestrians, potentially causing injuries to those below the bridge as well as damage to property.

What will the fence look like?

The fence will be a 6-foot back-mounted chain link fence, not majorly obstructing visibility.

Does WisDOT have a project regarding the Hoan Bridge?
