Project Details
This project will resurface approximately 1.5 miles of I-43 between WIS 60 and WIS 32 in Ozaukee County. The park and ride at I-43 and County V (WIS 32) will also be resurfaced as part of this project.
Improvement Include:
- Resurfacing of I-43 within project limits, including service ramps
- Base patching
- Cable guard installation and grading in median
- Box culvert repairs
- Repaving and new lighting at County V (WIS 32) Park and Ride.
Traffic Impacts:
Traffic will be maintained in both directions of I-43 during peak travel hours. Construction will be completed in multiple stages.
Stage 1 (Mid-June to Mid-July):
Cable barrier and beam guard improvements throughout project limits
- Single lane and shoulder closures
Stage 2 (Mid-July to fall 2024):
- Mill and overlay I-43 and service ramps within project limits
- Overnight full freeway closures and ramp closures
- Daytime single lane and shoulder closures
- County V (WIS 32) Park and Ride improvements
- One week closure, tentatively scheduled in October, for resurfacing and lighting improvements
Schedule:
Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-June and be complete in fall 2024.
