I-41 Rehabilitation Projects

Waukesha and Washington County

Project Overview

I-41/US 45 Split to Dodge County Line:

  • In early fall 2019, crews began resurfacing 22 miles of I-41 between the I-41/US 45 split and the Dodge County Line. This stretch of I-41 will also have guardrail and cable barrier installed, and will replace the structures along I-41 over a tributary to the East Branch Rock River.

Preventative Maintenance to Five Structures:

  • Crews will be applying a Thin Polymer Overlay to five structures along I-41 in Waukesha and Washington Counties. Thin polymer overlays are intended to seal the road surface of the bridge and prevent salt from leeching down into the steel reinforcement.
