Improvements for this section include:

• Resurface the existing pavement on I-41 from Burleigh Street to Silver Spring Drive
• Pavement rehabilitation on various ramps
• Replace noise wall at the Hampton Avenue southbound entrance ramp
• Install new noise wall along the east side of I-41 south of Silver Spring Drive

• Add southbound auxiliary lane from Capitol Drive to Hampton Avenue for improved merging at ramps

• Beam guard and signals upgrades
• Spot barrier replacement
• Median inlet replacement/repair

Traffic Impacts:

Long-term lane closures and overnight lane closures along I-41 are anticipated. During the long-term lane closures, traffic will be reduced from three lanes down to two. Traffic may be reduced from three lanes down to one lane only during overnight hours.

Long-term ramp closure of North Avenue on-ramp to northbound I-41. North Avenue on-ramp closure expected to begin mid-April and last until late summer 2025.

Additional ramp closures along I-41 corridor will occur as needed.

Schedule:

Construction between Burleigh Street and Silver Spring Drive began in early March 2025 and be completed by late summer 2026.
