This WisDOT project will make various safety improvements to the I-41 and WIS 60 interchange in Washington County.

Project Improvements:

The project will make improvements at the southbound ramp intersections, and address aging pavement along WIS 60 and the interchange ramps.

• Reconstruct the I-41 southbound on-ramp to address merging conflicts.
• Widen and realign the right turn lane at the I-41 southbound off-ramp to improve right turn visibility.
• Addition of traffic signals at the southbound ramp terminal and extension of the westbound WIS 60 left turn lane.
• Partial deck removal and widening to increase length of WIS 60 left turn lane to I-41 northbound on-ramp
• Other maintenance improvements, including pavement resurfacing, new pavement marking, and new signing.

Traffic Impacts:

A combination of long-term and overnight closures along WIS 60 and the on/off-ramps will be required during construction. Detours will be posted. Single lane closures on I-41 will be restricted to off-peak and overnight hours for bridge widening (removal of median) and painting.

Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained.

Schedule:

Construction on this project is scheduled to begin in mid-April and be completed in fall 2026. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
