This project will make various improvements to the 35th Street bridge over I-94 in the city of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County.

Improvements Include:

• Outermost steel girder(s) replacement
• Girder bearing pad replacement
• Removal and replacement of concrete bridge deck above the girders​

Long-term traffic Impacts:

• Long-term right lane closure on northbound 35th Street over I-94
• Long-term sidewalk closure on the east side of the 35th Street bridge over I-94

NOTE: Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained throughout this project.

Overnight Traffic Impacts:

• Overnight full freeway closures on westbound I-94 at 35th Street
  • Detour will be posted
• Overnight full closures on 35th Street between Wisconsin Avenue and National Avenue
  • Detours will be posted
• Overnight lane closures on I-94 between the Stadium Interchange and the Marquette Interchange

NOTE: All I-94 lanes and ramps will remain open during daytime hours.

Schedule:

This project is scheduled to begin in early fall 2024, and be completed by late 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
