Project Details
This project will reconstruct approximately 0.85 miles of WIS 32 (N. Lake Drive) from E. Newberry Blvd. to E. Edgewood Ave. in the city of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County.

Improvement Include:
- Pavement replacement within project limits
- Curb and ramp improvements
- Enhanced pedestrian and bike accommodations
- Replacing drainage structure
- Updating street lighting and traffic signals
Traffic Impacts:
WIS 32 will be closed to through traffic with a posted detour during construction. A single lane of southbound traffic will be maintained for local access only.
- Motorists using Lincoln Memorial Drive are encouraged to use Kenwood Boulevard, Oakland Avenue, and Hampton Road to get around the closure.
- WIS 32 motorists are encouraged to use North Avenue, Oakland Avenue, and Hampton Road to get around the closure.
Access to residents and local businesses will be maintained throughout the project.
Access to the nearby Oak Leaf Trail will be maintained throughout construction.
Schedule:
Construction is scheduled to begin in late July 2024 and be completed in summer 2025.
Work will be completed in multiple stages.
- 2024: Stage one
- Construction between E. Edgewood Ave. and E. Kenwood Blvd.
- 2025: Stage two
- Construction between E. Kenwood Blvd. and E. Newberry Blvd.
Traffic restrictions will be lifted during the winter shutdown, between stage one and stage two.
