Project Updates

August 6 Update

We are continuing to make progress and are nearing the completion of Stage 1 of the project. This week, we will be finalizing the concrete work and paving the surface layer of asphalt pavement later in the week or early next week. Then, next week we will begin the process of switching the traffic over to Stage 2, which will shift traffic to the outside and middle lane and move our work area to the middle of the roadway and the median areas. Stage 2 looks to be much shorter than Stage 1 of the project, as there is less work to be completed in the median areas than there was on the outside of the roadway. We are still aiming for competing the project in September.

We will continue to have daily middle lane closures during off-peak hours (6am – 3 pm) to facilitate the work. We are expecting to pave the asphalt surface for Northbound Lane 3 (the outside lane) on Thursday August 7th, so there may be a little delay to enter and exit driveways when the paving operations are going through your area, as we really want to make sure the pavement is cooled off before allowing traffic on it to avoid marring the asphalt, as this will be the final finished surface for the roadway. We will then pave Southbound Lane 3 either on Saturday August 9th, or  Monday August 11th, depending on when the concrete work can be completed.

It will then take a couple of days in each direction to switch over traffic to the Stage 2 setup, so I anticipate this will be completed by the end of next week, around Friday August 15th.
