UPDATE – US 141 (WIS 29/Main Ave.) Project construction begins August 3, 2026.
NOTICE OF STAKEHOLDER CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION MEETING
- WisDOT will hold a construction information meeting for businesses, property owners and residents on Thursday, July 23 at 5 p.m. at Bellevue Village Hall, 3100 Eaton Road in Bellevue.
- Project staff will discuss construction scope, staging, traffic impacts.
Location
WisDOT is improving 2.6 miles of US 141 between County MM (Ledgeview) and Continental Drive (Bellevue), Brown County, Wisconsin. US 141 runs concurrently with WIS 29 and Main Avenue.
Project improvements
This is a resurfacing level project. Construction operations include:
- Milling 2 ½” of the existing pavement and overlaying with 4” asphaltic pavement on mainline
- Milling 1 ¾” of the existing pavement and overlaying with 1 ¾” asphaltic pavement through the Allouez Avenue roundabout, County MM/Wall Street intersection, and from Ontario Road/Glenmore Road to approximately 600 feet to the east.
- Culvert repairs
- Beam guard replacements
- Curb ramp upgrades

- Splitter island and median nose repairs
- Pavement marking
- NOTE: Vision corner clearing was completed over winter 2024/25 at the intersections of Ontario Road, Klondike Road, Allouez Avenue, and Continental Drive within the WisDOT right-of-way to maintain safe railroad crossings

Anticipated benefits
Resurfacing will provide a smoother ride for motorists, extend the life of the pavement, and decrease future maintenance costs. Culvert repairs will help ensure proper drainage of water on the roadway. Guardrail upgrades will provide a higher level of safety should impact occur. Curb ramp upgrades will provide improved accessibility for those who rely on those accommodations.
Project schedule

Construction begins August 3, 2026, and is expected to finish in October 2026.
Traffic impacts
US 141 will remain OPEN (except for a three-to-five day period) with lane closures and flagging operations during construction. Motorists may encounter brief delays during flagging operations.
- During construction at the Allouez roundabout, a three-day closure/detour of the US 141/Allouez Avenue roundabout will occur.
- The detour directs traffic to use County JJ, I-43, and County MM.

Temporary business signing
Temporary business signing may be placed by filling out a WisDOT business signing permit. All temporary business signing needs approval via the permit before placement to ensure it is in a safe location and does not pose a visual distraction or traffic hazard. The temporary business signing permit is free. Costs associated with creating the temporary sign are the responsibility of the business.
