September 27, 2024 Update

Current Construction Operations:

• Bridge work continues, the crew is forming the deck and tying rebar on the deck, crews are pouring the concrete in the diaphragms today.
• Excavation and grading continues on the 12/67 ramp with stone placement today.
• Storm sewer work at the 12/67 ramp started and wrapped up yesterday.
• Asphalt repair and paving continues on US 12 between WIS 20 and County A.
• Curb and gutter was placed at the intersection of County ES and US 12 yesterday.

Upcoming Construction Operations (Week of 9/30/2024):

• Concrete curb and pavement are anticipated to start early to mid-week near the 12/67 ramp.
• Bridge work will continue, bridge deck formwork and rebar placement will be ongoing, anticipating to pour the bridge deck by mid-week.
• Finish grading will take place on County ES next week in preparation for asphalt paving.
• Signal conduit and bases will be installed starting early next week.
• Asphalt paving is anticipated to resume north of County A.

Traffic Updates:

• US 12 is closed to through traffic (residents and business will have access), a detour route utilizing WIS 20, I-43 and WIS 67 is in place.
• No traffic will be allowed to cross the Sugar Creek Bridge for the duration of this project (Located between County A and County ES.)
• County ES construction will be completed in east and west halves, the east half is open, the west half is CLOSED.
• County ES east will be the main route for those looking to access residences or businesses North of County ES on US 12.
• If you live between US 12 and Bluestem Lane, you will have access to your residence or business. If you live or have a business beyond US 12 and Bluestem Lane, you will not be able to use County ES west for access.
• If you are going to the Southern Lakes Church, Crossroad Motel or any other residence or business on US 12 between County ES and County A. You will need to use County ES east and US 12 as your access point.
• If a resident or business has more than one access point, one access point will be maintained.
• The project is anticipated to wrap up by this fall.

Additional Traffic Related Information:

• US 12 West to WIS 67 ramp will be open for traffic to travel South on WIS 67, this work will be staged to maintain current traffic movements.
• As other work operations take place, there will be flagging operations and other traffic control equipment along US 12 outside of the areas described above.

• Walworth County has a box culvert replacement project anticipated to begin in early to mid-October. The project is located on County ES just east of the Hodges Road intersection. More information will be distributed in the coming weeks.
